چکیده

Groundwater is a precious source of fresh water and major component the entire supply. Both quality quantity could be satisfied by evaluating groundwater potential sites (GWPS). This paper analyzes ground-water potentials in semi-arid region Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It describes standard methodology to identify map GWPS using integrated Geographical Information System (GIS) remote sensing (RS) methods. Eight parameters including elevation, slope, drainage density, lineaments soil, geology, land use/land cover rainfall were explore areas with holding capability. delineated through subjective weights assigned after coupling various thematic layers Saaty’s Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP). The modelled cross-checked tube wells data. result indicates that central part study area has good for reserves/exploitation, where factors i.e. moderate high sedimentary sequence alluvial plain, low elevation etc. discern portion as suitable site groundwater. suggests applied method proves very significant reliable tool timely assessment assured evaluation resources. systematic guide future investigations related explorations, especially environments.

Groundwater modeling for estimation of the recharge rate and identification of appropriate recharge sites in Damghan Plain, Iran

Water is the main option of any development, so having an accurate management of groundwater is necessary. This study has been done in Damghan sedimentary plain in Iran, which is located in northwest of Semnan Province. The main objective of this research was to estimate the rate and right site of recharge in Damghan plain to prevent the aquifer from decreasing the water table. For this purpose...

Evaluation of OLSR Protocol Implementations using Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP)

Adhoc networks are part of IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN Standard also called Independent Basic Service Set (IBSS) and work as Peer to Peer network by default. These work without the requirement of an Infrastructure (such as an Access Point) and demands specific routing requirements to work as a multihop network. There are various Adhoc network routing protocols which are categorized as Proactive, R...

Groundwater recharge study in arid region: An approach using GIS techniques and numerical modeling

To demonstrate the capabilities of Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques and numerical modeling for groundwater resources development in arid areas, specifically for the demarcation of suitable sites for the artificial recharge of groundwater aquifers, a study was carried out in the Maknassy basin, which is located in Central Tunisia. Thematic maps were prepared using a Hydrogeological...

Development of an Improved Fuzzy Approach to Model Potential Sites for Groundwater Artificial Recharge

Delineation of potential sites for groundwater artificial recharge is an important and challenging task. The purpose of this research is to develop a new data-driven fuzzy approach to model potential sites for groundwater artificial recharge. To achieve this end, the efficient criteria of a proper site for groundwater artificial recharge were first recognized and presented as a conceptual model...

Assessment Quantitative of Soil Quality in Different Uses of Shahrekord Plain Using the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP)

Assessment of soil quality helps to make a balance between soil function and soil resources, improving soil quality and achieving the sustainable agriculture. For the quantitative evaluation of soil quality in the Shahrekord plain, Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari province, 106 compound surficial soil samples (0-25 cm) were collected. After the pre-treatments of soil samples, 11 physico-chemical soil c...
